Ignacio Béjar
Multi-instrumentalist, composer, therapist and healer-through- music, producer, cultural promoter, creator of cultural spaces.

His passion for music and instruments of the world together with his interior work and spiritual search have led him to investigate and discover a universal language through music and sound, and to recover the ritual and healing significance of this art that all traditional cultures have used, since the beginning of time, to connect with nature, with the spiritual world and to become one with the group and its environment.
Based on his personal experiences, his travels and his research he has developed the concept of MUSIC FOR ONENESS.
He carries out important work disseminating music as a tool for healing and for the awakening of consciousness through conferences, numerous workshops and private sessions of SUFI HEALING MUSIC (Al-Andalus and Oriental Music Therapy) in which the participants can feel the beneficial effects, on different levels, of this ancestral technique, which was used as a form of holistic medicine in the ancient hospitals of Al-Andalus and the Middle East.
Besides his intense activity with WORKSHOPS and SOLO CONCERTS, he participates as a musician, founder and composer in emblematic groups of World Music with musicians from different cultures (India, Turkey, Morocco, Africa, Iran...) such as IGNACIO BÉJAR GROUP, EL SOMBRERO DEL ALQUIMISTA, CARAVASAR, KHAIRKAN, AKASHA SOUND, ILAHI NAAD, SEMAI or RIFAK among others, with which he tours the stages of festivals, theatres and monumental venues at an international level (Turkey, England, Germany, Austria, Morocco, Spain, Portugal, Iran, U.S.A., France...) in such prestigious places as the Berlin Philarmonie, the Bridge for Peace Festival in Istanbul, the Casa do Música in Porto, Los Jardines de los Alcázares Reales in Seville, Colet House in London, the Instituto Cervantes in Casablanca (Morocco), Sounds of Light (a tour through Turkey), among others.
He has studied Sufi Music and Music Therapy with Dr. Oruç Guvenç from Istanbul, acquiring knowledge transmitted orally for centuries, from master to pupil in accordance with the Sufi and Oriental traditions from generation to generation, and has participated as a musician in “SEMA” rituals or the whirling dervishes in Spain, Turkey, Austria and Germany and also as a member of the group TUMATA which researches and performs ritual music from Central Asia and Sufi music.
He also gives workshops of his own creation like SUFI MUSIC, CREATIVITY AND CONSCIOUSNESS, or THE VOICE OF THE HEART, or workshops in SUFI HEALING MUSIC or THE NEY AS AN INSTRUMENT FOR INTERIOR DEVELOPMENT.
He has released two solo CDs: “EPIKEYA, la Historia de un Sueño” (2000), “HACIA LA LUZ” (2013), “ALAS DE FUEGO” (unreleased), apart from other albums with different groups: “AKASHA SOUND, A Journey Through Sound” (2012), “EL SOMBRERO DEL ALQUIMISTA” (2009), “ALMINARES MEDITERRÁNEOS” (2006) with the group CARAVASAR, among others.
He has composed and performed soundtracks for documentaries, cinema and plays.
In 2004 he composes and performs the music for the CDs on personal development and interior work “SOFRODYNAMIA, Armonia y Paz” (SOFRODYNAMIA, Harmony and Peace) and “SOFRODYNAMIA, Técnicas de respiración” (SOFRODYNAMIA, Breathing Techniques) by Dr Armando Nougés.
He is also the creator of several spaces which have been real landmarks in the alternative culture of Malaga like the DOCE LUNAS (Twelve Moons) teashop (1993-2003) and the CENTRO RUBAYAT, a centre for internal arts, in 2009.
Organizer of World Music festivals such as, among others, the four editions of CICLO DE MÚSICAS DEL MUNDO at the CUEVA DEL TESORO in El Rincón de la Victoria, the three editions of the CICLO DE MÚSICAS DEL MUNDO of the UMA (University of Malaga), the CICLO DE MÚSICAS DEL ALMA at Bil Bil Castle in Benalmadena.
In october of 2019 creates the SCHOOL OF MUSIC FOR ONENESS in Malaga and Madrid as a spiritual path and one of inner growth through the learning of Sufi Music, the development of voice, dance, and the healing power of Music.
